ViewMade's Starter plan costs 29 US dollars per month and produces 50 renders, which works out to $0.58 per finished vertical short, measured on 22 August 2026. There is no free tier and no annual plan on Starter, so the monthly figure is the whole commitment.
What is actually different for you
A non-profit video usually has to survive scrutiny. A donor, a board member, a journalist or a regulator can ask where a shot came from, and "the AI made it" is not an answer. ViewMade does not generate the visuals with a video model. It pulls real footage from archives, maps and charts, and every render ships with a media credits file that names the source of each clip. When someone asks what the B-roll in your fundraising short is, you open the file and read the answer.
That changes the kind of claim you can make. Footage of an actual flood, an actual hearing or an actual famine site supports a factual statement. A generated approximation of one does not, and most tools in this category generate. Revid, Faceless.so, Short.ai and Vicsee all produce generated visuals, per their own homepages read on 23 August 2026. StoryShort uses web-sourced imagery with only partial source attribution. If your communications need to be defensible, the source of the picture is not a detail. It is the product.
The arithmetic
The Starter plan is the relevant one. At $29 a month for 50 renders, each short costs $0.58, measured on 22 August 2026. A communications team publishing two shorts a week uses roughly eight to nine renders a month, which leaves more than 40 unused. If you publish daily on one channel, 30 renders a month still fits inside the plan.
The Pro plan changes the per-unit math at higher volume: $59 monthly, or $29.5 a month billed annually at $354 a year, a 50 percent discount, for 150 renders a month. That is $0.2 per short, measured on 22 August 2026. Pro also adds 10 AI child videos per month, a priority render queue, and API plus MCP access. Most non-profits will not need it. Starter covers a normal editorial calendar with room to spare, and the monthly billing means you can pause it between campaigns without a contract.
What you get back
Each render is a finished 1080x1920 vertical video containing:
- Sourced research behind the script
- Voiceover in one of 5 languages
- Word-for-word burned-in captions, in one of 7 caption styles
- Real archive footage, maps and charts instead of generated visuals
- A title, description and tags
- Background music
- A thumbnail
- A media credits file naming the source of every clip
The interface runs in 7 languages: English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. The credits file is the item to weight heaviest for this audience. Any video that makes a claim about the world can be asked to prove it, and this one arrives with its proof attached.
Where this is the wrong tool for you
If your team already has footage, ViewMade is the wrong shape. It builds videos from a topic; it does not edit material you shot yourself. For captioning and polishing an existing clip, Submagic does that job, though its pricing could not be verified from its pricing page on 23 August 2026 and is listed here as not measured. For editing around a recording with the most control, Descript is the stronger choice: its Hobbyist plan is $16 per person per month billed annually or $24 monthly, measured on 23 August 2026, and it produces watermark-free output on that tier. For turning an article or script into a video from a stock library, Pictory fits: $25 per month billed annually or $29 monthly on Starter, measured on 23 August 2026, with a free trial. If you need a presenter on camera without a camera, HeyGen's Creator plan is $29 monthly or $24 billed annually, also measured on 23 August 2026. ViewMade earns its place when the video is about real events and the sources have to be named.
<!-- faq -->Frequently asked questions
Does ViewMade post to our YouTube channel?
No. The YouTube connection requests read-only access only. The access token is discarded after import and no refresh token is stored. ViewMade cannot upload, edit, delete or comment on your channel. You download the file and publish it yourself.
Can we pause the subscription between campaigns?
Yes. Starter is monthly only, with no annual plan, so the commitment is one month at a time. Production begins after successful payment.
Are the visuals AI-generated?
No. The footage comes from real archives, maps and charts. Each render includes a media credits file naming the source of every clip, so the provenance is documented rather than asserted.
What does a short cost on the Pro plan?
Pro is $59 monthly, or $29.5 a month billed annually at $354 a year, for 150 renders a month. That is $0.2 per short, measured on 22 August 2026.
