What you give it
You give it one thing: a topic sentence. "The Suez Crisis of 1956" is enough. The shorts strip takes that topic, researches it, writes the script, records the voiceover, and cuts the picture. It does not take an existing video to clip, an article URL to summarize, or raw footage you already own. If you have footage of your own, this strip will not edit it; tools like Descript or CapCut are built for that job instead.

How it works
- You submit a topic. One sentence about a historical event or period is the whole input.
- The system researches and writes the script. The narration is written around sourced facts about the event, not generated filler.
- The system voices and scores it. A voiceover in one of 5 languages is recorded and background music is added.
- The system assembles the Short. Real archive footage, maps and charts are cut against the script, captions are burned in word by word, and the render comes back with its title, description, tags and media credit file.
Where the footage comes from
This is the part that separates ViewMade from most of the category. The visuals are not produced by a video model. They come from real archives: historical photographs, newsreel frames, maps and data charts matched to the script. For a history Short about, say, a naval disaster or a border change, the picture shows the actual ship class or the actual map, not an AI approximation of one.
Every render arrives with a media credit file that names the source of each clip used. If a viewer asks where a frame came from, or a platform asks for attribution, the answer is in the file. StoryShort, measured on 19 August 2026, uses web-sourced imagery but provides only partial source credits; Revid, Crayo, Faceless.so, Short.ai, Medeo, Hooked, Vicsee and TubeGen use generated visuals and provide no credits at all. Is the footage AI-generated?

What access does ViewMade need to my YouTube account?
Read-only (youtube.readonly), only if you choose to import something. The access token is discarded after import and no refresh token is stored. ViewMade cannot upload, edit, delete or comment on your channel.
Can I publish directly from ViewMade?
No. You download the finished Short, its metadata and its credit file, then upload it yourself through YouTube Studio or your scheduler.
