ViewMade's Starter plan produced a finished vertical documentary Short for $0.58 per render at the 22 August 2026 measurement, with 50 renders included each month. You give it one topic sentence about a science subject and it returns a researched, narrated, subtitled video built from real archive footage. This page answers one question: does that pipeline do your specific job?
What you give it
You give the shorts strip a single topic sentence, such as "Why the Hindenburg used hydrogen instead of helium." That is the entire input. The strip handles the research, the script, the narration, the footage selection, and the cut. It does not accept an existing script to polish, a long video to clip down, or raw clips you already shot. If you have those, this is not the tool for that step.
What comes back
Each render returns:
- A finished 1080x1920 vertical video.
- Word-by-word subtitles burned into the image, with 7 caption styles to choose from.
- Voiceover in 1 of 5 languages.
- A title, description, and tags ready for upload.
- Background music.
- Licensed real footage plus a media credits file naming the source of every clip.
The interface itself runs in 7 languages: English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
How it works
- Research. The system reads sources on your topic and builds a factual outline before any writing starts.
- Script. It writes a documentary-style script from that outline, structured for a short vertical format.
- Footage and narration. It selects real archive material, maps, and charts to match the script, records the voiceover, and cuts the two together.
- Package. It renders the final file with subtitles, music, thumbnail, title, description, tags, and the media credits file, then hands you a download package you publish yourself.
Where the footage comes from
This is the part that separates ViewMade from most tools in this category. The visuals are not generated by a video model. They come from real archives, maps, and charts, matched to what the script describes. For science topics this matters more than usual: a segment on ocean currents shows actual current maps, a segment on a historical experiment shows period photographs or film, a segment on anatomy shows diagrams rather than a model's approximation of one. Every render ships with a media credits file that names the source of each clip, so you can verify what is on screen and attribute it when you publish. StoryShort also pulls web-sourced imagery but provides only partial source attribution; InVideo and Revid generate or use stock libraries and provide no source credits. If your audience includes people who will check whether a frame is real, the credits file is the difference between a defensible video and a guess.
What it costs
There are two plans and no free tier. Production begins only after payment succeeds, and there are no registration credits.
| Plan | Price | Renders | Cost per Short |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29/month | 50 | $0.58 |
| Pro | $59/month, or $29.50/month billed annually ($354/year, 50% off) | 150 | $0.20 |
Starter is monthly only; there is no annual option on that tier. Pro adds 10 AI children's videos per month, priority render queue, and API plus MCP access. Agency pricing is custom.
When this is not the right fit
If your job is editing footage you already have, use Descript or CapCut instead. Descript gives you the most control around a recording, and its Hobbyist plan outputs without a watermark at $16/month billed annually or $24/month billed monthly, as of the 23 August 2026 measurement of descript.com/pricing. If your job is finding short clips inside a long video you already made, Opus Clip does exactly that, with a free tier and a Starter plan at $15/month. If you need a presenter on camera without a camera, HeyGen is built for that, with Creator at $29/month or $24/month on annual billing. ViewMade does none of those three jobs. It takes a topic sentence and returns a sourced documentary Short. If your input is anything other than a topic, start elsewhere.
